Trekking Munnar: One night in Kolukkumalai Tea Estate

You’ve had the lowdown with my guide to spending a night in Black Eagles Camp, Munnar so now here’s my photo diary from trekking Munnar where we spent one night in Kolukkumalai Tea Estate which features the world’s highest organic tea plantation.

Of all of the adventure activities in Munnar, this has to be one of the best; we got lost among 115 year old tea bushes, hiked to see the sunrise and camped in the highest organic tea plantation in the world, Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, in the company of amazing locals and travellers alike. And my camera was bursting at the seams as I documented the whole thing. So here are some of my favourite snaps from one of the best things to do in Munnar.

Arriving at Black Eagles Camp involves choosing which bedroom you’d like for the night… before running into the hills to frolic around in the tea bushes.

Me. Frolicking around in the tea bushes.

Sunrise the next morning after a pre-dawn start to hike 45 minutes to Tiger Rock. The sunrise that morning was a bit dull, but the mountain still looked sick.

This is KC. She took the pic of me in the featured image of this post. She’s a way better photographer than me.

My feet. And the hills beyond. Just so you know i was actually there.

Chai time! Back at camp after our early start. Can ya believe Black Eagles Camp got the memo about how fashionable succulents are in internet pictures these days? I was so impressed i got a chai flat lay straight up.

Chai necked, shoes off…

For a tutorial in slack lining. We fell off lots but started getting the hang of it. Mark even made falling off look cool. He’s good like that.

Before we were whisked away for a casual hike downhill into the plantations…

…Where we met this mega babe. I took this pic and told her how beautiful she is. She liked it so i thought she’d be ok with it going on the internet.

And then there were some flowers that matched that beautiful ladies’ top. So I included them here for a bit of colour co-ordination before saying peace out.
